A new way to increase life expectancy

Scientists from the National Institute on ageing in the US found: an increase of between meals improves the health and viability. However, it was discovered during experiments on mice, but people finding the researchers can also be useful.

The work of American specialists refutes the established opinion that you need to eat small portions and often. Trials involving 292 animals showed healthier just a long pause between meals.

Mice were divided into three groups. One of the animals had continuous access to feed, another was fed food containing 30% less calories and a third of the mice were fed once a day, but gave in this case, food equal to the caloric content of the diet of the first group.

The result has been established: to improve the overall health and viability in mice resulted in an increase in periods of starvation.

“In periods of starvation the body starts the mechanism of physiological recovery, ensuring cellular integrity, which was in continuous receipt of food,” – said the authors of the project.
