Found a connection between fasting and longevity

American scientists from the national Institute of health, USA, said that dietary restrictions may actually be a way to improve health and prolong life. Read more about the experiment biologists reported on the website of the journal Cell Metabolism.

The experiments were raised in mice: 292 rodent was divided scientists into two groups, one of which received a standard daily diet, and the other only protein foods without sugar and fat. Then the animals were divided again. Part of them had access to the feed at any time of the day, the unit received food on demand, but strictly in a limited quantity, and only once a day in moderate amount.

It turned out that in the group of animals treated with the smooth feed of the animals died the first 28 weeks before the rodents of the other two subgroups. In turn, mice that were fed restrictedly once a day, died the latest.

According to scientific experts, the results of experiments with rodents applied to humans, since human metabolic rate and metabolism of mice have very similar processes.
