As the physically handicapped, Blake (5) at a school festival gets up and running, flowing tears of joy

The five-year-old Blake Mompher from Prospect, Ohio (USA) is seriously ill. He suffers from Spina bifida, a so-called “open back”. The Doctors assumed that the Boy can never run. But the little fighter surprised all of them.

In the 20. Week of pregnancy mother Megan received during a routine ultrasound a shocking message. Her unborn son was diagnosed with Spina bifida. “I knew something was wrong,” she told the Daily Mail. The disease is a rare malformation of the spine and of the spinal cord. Affected are not able to mentally and physically handicapped, incurable congenital disease. Only the symptoms can be alleviated by certain drugs some.

Before his first birthday, the young Blake had to draw Mompher five operations. Currently, the five-year-old regularly goes to speech, Occupational and physical therapy. In addition, the small fighter sits mostly in a wheelchair.

But Blake is a fighter. Together with his mother, Blake had a goal: He wanted to be able to run. And indeed: With the help of his therapist managed to Blake to walk a few steps.
