Russia is on 5th place in the world for early male mortality

Russia once again fell in the ranking of countries with the highest male mortality. For this indicator, it ranks fifth in the world.

Scientists have made a rating of countries in accordance with the expected lifespan of men and women. In the top ten States with the largest number of men do not live to 70 years, alopochen fifth place is Russia. According to experts, 36.5% of the stronger sex from Russia did not make it to 70 years. These figures are all the more sad when you consider that our country is going to gradually increase the age of retirement for men to 65 years. First place in male mortality is Mongolia – here, 38.8% of men not expected to live to 70. In the second place the island nation of Fiji, on the third – Kazakhstan, the fourth – Turkmenistan.

The top ten also includes Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Kiribati and North Korea. I am glad that Russia, at least, did not hit the same terrible top ten in terms of female mortality. Our country is not included in the 10 States where the largest number of women was not expected to live to 70. This rating is headed by the African country of Sierra Leone, followed by côte d’ivoire, Guyana, Yemen, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, Mali, Lesotho, Haiti, and Laos.

Published in the journal the Lancet study, researchers from Imperial College London is one of the most ambitious and global. Moreover, the authors stress that took into account mortality from such causes as tumor, heart disease, and lung, and diabetes. Were taken into account not the current elderly, as 30-year-old men and women. Experts have estimated their probability of surviving to 70 years.
