The JAMA Network journal Open published data from a study involving more than 50 thousand people, which suggests that the incidence of cancer can be predicted in advance with early detection of genetic pathologies. The problem is that such screening is not carried out.
The survey subject was the analysis of the so-called genomic library is a set of cloned DNA fragments representing an individual genome. This analysis showed that 80% of people have genetic predisposition to cancer, but don’t have any idea about this.
“Our results showed that 8 out of 10 of people surveyed were in danger of developing cancer. The most common types of diseases were cancer, ovarian cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer,” reported the researchers in the publication edition.
According to scientists, many of these people followed the health and passed the medical examination. However, in their opinion, to identify the propensity for cancer checkups is not enough – need more in-depth examination. One of the most effective methods to predict the development of scientists called genetic screening. Experts said the problem with late diagnosis of tumours start because of the reluctance of people to undergo such examinations.
Earlier Magicforum wrote that scientists have uncovered one of the mechanisms of occurrence of malignant tumors of the intestine.
