A joint study by British and Israeli scientists ended with the verdict of experts about what a dangerous disease such as kidney cancer can be determined in advance – even before the appearance of the first characteristic symptoms, says Clinical Cancer Research. This allows you to do a standard blood test, concluded the authors of the project.
In particular, researchers (specialists of the National Institute of health of great Britain and Israeli diagnostic center) proposed for the diagnosis of kidney cancer to focus on the marker KIM-1.
“The increased concentration of KIM-1 in the blood indicates kidney damage, it allows you to determine kidney cancer long before its occurrence”, – shared his opinion of scientific experts.
Conducted by researchers in trials of people with suspected cancer and healthy volunteers of the same age and weight revealed that the propensity to high risk of developing cancer of the kidney increased KIM-1 in the blood two times higher than in the absence of such risk.
