The group of scientific experts from Iraq found that the wine contains the natural phytoalexin anti-inflammatory (phenol), which gives the effect of reducing pain in patients suffering from arthritis. This analgesic component was resveratrol, an ingredient included in the composition of the skin of red grapes.
The hospital staff Ball in Kurdistan conducted an experiment involving 110 patients with osteoarthritis. Within three months half of them were taken along with meloxicam (the drug to treat pain and inflammation) 500 mg of resveratrol. The other half took a placebo.
Before the start of the experiment and also after the blood of participants was tested the contents of inflammatory biomarkers. These data helped to establish that in the group taking resveratrol volunteers there was a significant decrease in the concentration of inflammatory cells, and the reduction of pain manifestations.
“The results showed that patients who received oral supplementation of resveratrol, had a much lower score in the scale of pain compared with those who took a placebo,” – said the authors of the experiment.
However, “treat” the pain by wine you can hardly with the same success. Available data indicate that the average glass of red wine contains 2 mg of resveratrol. To get off booze the effect of anesthesia is similar to what was observed by scientists in their study, you need to drink too much – so much wine will be just deadly.
Earlier Magicforum wrote about the fact that wine (along with beer) was included in the list of products that contribute to longevity.
