Here's How Many Women Actually Orgasm During Sex

Permission to speak frankly?

It takes a lot less effort for guys to get off during sex than it does for women. Sorry, it sucks, but it’s true. Which is why we were kinda intrigued to learn that a major new study has found a way for us ladies to turn the tables.

Researchers from Indiana University and Chapman University surveyed over 52,000 males and females between the ages of 18-65 of all sexual orientations. Frustratingly, 95 per cent of heterosexual men reported that they regularly have an orgasm whilst doing the deed with their partner, while only 65 per cent of heterosexual women said the same.

Bisexual women climax a little more frequently (at 66 per cent), compared to 86 per cent of lesbian women. On the other hand, 88 per cent of bisexual men and 89 per cent of gay men regularly reach The BIG O.

The reason behind this serious injustice? Nearly 30 per cent of dudes think all it takes is P in V – which, the study’s co-author Elisabeth Lloyd confirms, “couldn’t be further from the truth.” (FYI, just 35 per cent of heterosexual women orgasm during vaginal sex alone.)

Interestingly though, 80 per cent of all women said they climax thanks to “the golden trio” (aka, a combo of deep kissing, genital stimulation and oral sex.) In addition, it helps if the women are “more satisfied with their relationship, ask for what they want in bed, praise their partner for something they did in bed, call/email to tease about doing something sexual, wear sexy lingerie, try anal stimulation” or “act out fantasies.”

Just a few things to keep in mind next time things start getting hot and heavy. (You’re welcome.)
