Three servings of dairy products per day effectively helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Pronounced positive effect of dairy products for the health of the myocardium revealed a recent study by researchers from McMaster University (Canada). Specialists carried out an experiment involving 136,000 people aged 35 to 70 years during which data on health of the people gathered for the past nine years.
During the observation period 6 796 participants in the project died, 8 555 were diagnosed with cardiovascular disease. The scientists focused their attention on the correlation between dietary habits and health status of the subjects. As a result, they concluded that eating three servings of fatty dairy products a day improve the condition of the heart muscle. One serving, according to scientists, is a glass of milk or yogurt in 244 grams, 15 grams of cheese, or 5g of butter.
“We found that if the average consumption of dairy products per day in humans was 3.2 servings, the risk of death from cardiovascular accidents decreased to 2.2%,” – said, in particular, the authors of the work.
Note that experts from the School of philosophy and nutrition policy Friedman at tufts University, about the study which were reported by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, have also stated thatconsumption of dairy products, contrary to many dietary theories about the undesirability of their use – in fact strengthen the heart and blood vessels. The doctors stated that people with a higher concentration of milk fatty acids in your diet as a whole 42% less likely to die from a stroke.
