Abstinence from alcohol for a month. What will happen to the organism?

Scientists from University College London presented a detailed picture of what changes are possible in the human body by giving up alcohol for a month.

As reported in the report on this experiment the London researchers on the portal BBC, the authors gathered a group of 26 volunteers who were divided into two groups. One continued to consume alcohol in accordance with their habits, while another completely refused from alcohol for exactly a month.

At the beginning and at the end of the test volunteers was conducted a full medical examination. Comparison of the results allowed us to see the difference in the body condition of the people during “alcohol freedom” and after a month of abstinence.

“All who abstain from alcohol, improved their tests: these test subjects decreased weight and decreased percentage of adipose tissue of the liver, improved quality of sleep and ability to concentrate,” – said the scientists.
According to them, the most significant improvement in the parameters of the organism occurred in people who before the experiment were not abused alcohol, drank up to six glasses of beer or wine a week. As for the participants who preferred higher doses of alcohol, they experiment unexpectedly helped to start drinking less, three weeks after finishing the test, returning to normal life, they began to drink alcohol at 70 percent less.
