With its 40 shades of foundation, six shades of highlighter, and three luminizers, Flesh Beauty is out to prove that makeup isn't one-size-fits-all. But it does have one product that's designed to work no matter what your skin type or color: the Fresh Flesh Illuminating Primer. And it's already sold out.
Developed by Allure's very own founding editor Linda Wells and designed as an indie beauty brand under the banner of Revlon, Flesh launched on ulta.com on Monday only two weeks after it was first announced. Between Wells's reputation as a beauty maven and the well-deserved hype for inclusive beauty brands, the Internet was very excited to welcome Flesh into the world — apparently, so excited that it already drained Ulta online stock of Flesh's primer, which is formulated with pro-vitamin B5, glycerin, and blue and purple photo-reflecting agents to make your skin glow.
"The idea behind Flesh is makeup that honors the integrity of your skin to highlight your best individual self," Wells said in a press release. But it makes sense that the primer, the product that's designed to work no matter what your skin color, was first to sell out. Some of us have red undertones and others have blue, but all of us have a canvas that, let's face it, deserves to be primed.
Flesh's 40 shades of foundation "from the palest pale to the darkest dark" are all, so far, still available. But as word spreads, we have a feeling we're going to be dealing with more than one "out of stock" notice. Thankfully, the range is coming to 510 Ulta locations on July 8, so you'll soon be able to shop your shade — not to mention the rest of the brand's 96 SKUs — IRL.
