The usual diet can lead to depression

Foreign experts have found a relationship between the daily diet of people and increased risk of depression. Scientists from James cook University in Australia, stated that an unhealthy everyday diet with the easy access to fast food can lead to the development of this mental illness.

According to scientific studies, depression affected more than half of residents of large cities. Fatigue, lethargy, apathy or, on the contrary, increased sensitivity and irritability, – all these qualities are frequent companions of urban life, which are constantly present information noise, the frantic pace of life and work, the constant pursuit of the best with an eye on the other.

Australian researchers found another cause of depression. They conducted an experiment where participants were 100 of the inhabitants of the two Islands between Papua and the Northern tip of Australia. Monitoring people showed that in their diet they adhere to different systems: one used the fast food and other prepared meals and eating lots of fish and seafood.

In the journal Nutritional Neuroscience published report on this study, experts noted that with the development of depression is associated with a high content of fatty acids in the constant power. This feature is characteristic of the so-called Western type of food, which is characterized by active consumption of fast food and processed foods.

The work of scientists – not the first, which indicates the relationship between the active consumption of fast food and depression. In preliminary research also heard statements by experts, that regular eating of fast food can provoke the development of chronic inflammatory processes, during which the “Pro-inflammatory molecules into the brain and specifically affect mental health”. In particular, inflammation suppresses the activity of neurotransmitters – the molecules responsible for controlling mood.
