In Russia to obtain free medicines will be a new category of patients. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova. In particular, according to Golikova, next year will expand the list of orphan (rare) diseases on the program “Seven nosologies”.
The program “Seven nosologies” includes the categories of patients with oncohematological diseases, multiple sclerosis, hemophilia, and also patients after organ transplantations, etc. All these patients need lifelong medication.
Tatyana Golikova has informed that the government was committed to ensure free medicines even of five categories of orphan patients: patients with atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (AHUs), three types of mucopolysaccharidosis and juvenile arthritis with systemic beginning.
The actual problem today the Deputy Prime Minister said the establishment of reliable registers of patients for each disease included in the list of life-threatening and chronic rare (orphan) diseases.
“We have decided to monitor this thread to have a clear picture of the cost of benefits, and in 2019 will start to change the legislation in the sphere of provision of medicines”, – said Tatyana Golikova.
