Experts have studied the composition of the 95 most major brands of cottage cheese that make up more than 70 percent of the Russian market of this product. Quality cheese is very good for health, but testing showed that only a third of sold in Russia of the cheese complies with all mandatory requirements and standards expected of a good quality.
Study of the quality of the curds was carried out by experts of Roccasecca, Rospotrebnadzor and Rosselkhoznadzor they tested samples of 9 percent cottage cheese from 73 manufacturers. It turned out that of these brands, only 27 meet the mandatory requirements.
“The quality mark can apply curd seven producers, three of them work in the Kirov region. High price does not guarantee quality cheese. Among the leaders was as one of the most expensive and one of the cheapest products,” the researchers reported.
According to the test results, only 18 producers passed the conformance requirements of Roskoshestvo.
