Milk Makeup Is Launching Its First-Ever Setting Powder and It's Unbelievably Light

Since the brand's launch in 2016, Milk Makeup has created several products made to give skin a soft-focus look and make people question the existence of your pores. There's the Blur Stick primer and its recent Luminous Blur Stick reimagining, the Blur Spray for setting your makeup, and the Blur Liquid Matte Foundation, which recently saw a shade expansion. One type of complexion makeup has been conspicuously absent from the Blur collection — and the Milk Makeup line as a whole — however: powder. But that's about to be remedied.

Milk Makeup is launching Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder, a formula that, like its Blur brethren, imparts a filter-like effect on skin to make pores and fine lines less apparent. Being that it's a setting powder, however, it also promises to absorb oil, lock in makeup, and stop shine.

It does this all with a talc-free, silicone-free, vegan formula — which will reportedly be the first of its kind on Sephora shelves — that relies on hyaluronic acid and avocado powder for a smooth finish that doesn't settle into skin's little nooks and crannies. But what may set Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder apart from other powders more than anything else is the claim that it's 31 percent lighter than most setting powders, so you barely feel it and definitely don't detect any cakiness.

Available in three shades — Translucent Light, Translucent Medium, and Translucent Deep — the powder comes with an applicator sponge infused with antibacterial charcoal, but it can just as easily be applied with a brush. If you'd like to use it for baking, however, the brand recommends dampening the sponge and packing the powder anywhere on your face you'd like to add radiance; leave it on for up to 10 minutes, brush off the excess, and enjoy your blurred brightness.

Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder will be available for $29 on milkmakeup.com and sephora.com on August 7, and in Sephora stores on August 15.
