Sanitary control of the United States questioned the safety of a whole class of drugs against high blood pressure. They may contain chemicals that cause cancer.
Several popular drugs used for the treatment of high blood pressure, can be contaminated with carcinogenic chemicals. With the warning made by the experts of Management on sanitary inspection behind quality of foodstuff and medicines of the USA. The main health authority in the country announced the discovery of possible carcinogenic ingredients in the drug valsartan in July after the manufacturer of this drug a month earlier, attracted considerable attention. Pharmaceutical company Camber Pharmaceuticals voluntarily withdrew the drug from sale on 9 August after it discovered a possible carcinogen called N-nitrosodimethylamine.
And while the experts call the amount of that chemical in the pills is negligible, it is detected in the products of some other manufacturers who re-package and sell generic valsartan under other names. Several thousand patients in the country, experts say, are at risk because of this drug, but experts believe that this incident will not increase the overall incidence of cancer in the U.S. is higher than one case per year.
Note that in America, approximately 100 million people have high blood pressure, because of which thousands of people die each year. They need to take medication to reduce pressure, but for some of them these medications, which allow years to keep the pressure under control and live slowly destroy the cells, making them vulnerable to cancer.
