Five year old baby is being treated for testicular cancer

This five-year-old boy became one of the youngest in the world patients with cancer of the testicle. His parents noticed this lesion quite by accident when he put his child in school.

Not so long ago an Englishman Lucas Hellawell went through successful surgery to remove a large testicular tumor, and now the child is doing chemotherapy. He became one of the youngest patients in the country who are faced with cancer of the testicle. The diagnosis put him just 5 years old, which is incredibly rare. That day mom and dad accidentally found a tumor my son when I dressed him for going to school (in England schooling starts at 4 years). In those days the child suffered from abdominal pain, and parents were more attentive. Dad called the doctor and called him at home, and medic is already transported the child to the hospital for more urgent and detailed inspections.

When tests confirmed the presence of cancer, the doctors moved Lucas into a more specialized medical institution of the city of Leeds, where he went through a CT scan. Then the child was waiting for surgery, and now he’s going through chemotherapy for a duration of 22 weeks, which will end in January 2019. He also had to remove the spermatic cord, to make a biopsy, multiple sessions of ultrasound and blood tests.

The child’s mother says that, despite the powerful side effects of chemotherapy, Lucas holding up very well.
