Journal ProceedingsoftheNationalAcademyofsciencesрассказал about the discovery of the researchers of the SCRIPPS Institute in the US that have managed to develop an effective tool against melanoma (skin cancer). Experiments on mice have confirmed its high efficiency.
The researchers aim to find a substance that enhances the effectiveness of chemotherapy in the treatment of melanoma, with this purpose, they tested almost 100 thousand chemical compounds. The work of scientists was not in vain, they were able to identify the substance diproval, able to bind with proteins that activate cellular immune response.
In experiment were used murine model of aggressive melanoma. Sick animals were divided into three groups different from each other types of treatment. For the treatment used injections of ovalbumin, the drug to weaken the resistance of cancer cells to immunity anti-PD-L1, diproval and alum in various combinations.
It turned out that the use of dobrovolna helps to stop the growth of melanoma. In the group in which rodents during the 54 days was conducted therapy in the form of a combination injection of ovalbumin, anti-PD-L1 and dobrovolna was observed one hundred percent survival rate. While animals treated with diproval, scientists have been unable to reactivate the growth of melanoma.
However, whether the new facility so successfully tested on mice, and effective for humans is unknown – it can only show a new research and tests.
