Pumpkin refers to the number of products that have the minimum number of contraindications, thus the vegetable is a real mine of useful nutrients: pumpkin pulp contains a unique vitamin–mineral complex. However, there is a pumpkin it is possible not all.
Professor BelMAPO (the Belarusian medical Academy of postgraduate education) Olga Peresada told that the pumpkin can rightly be regarded as the main vegetable for the fight against atherosclerosis – the disease that kills blood vessels.
“The pulp and pumpkin seeds improve blood composition, elasticity of the vascular wall, prevents the development of thrombophlebitis and varicose veins,” – said the scientist.

Also pumpkin has a high content of vitamin e, retinol, ascorbic acid, pyridoxine, folic acid, Riboflavin, vitamin B5, thiamine, tocopherol, vitamin K, beta–carotene and essential minerals.
Physicians are well known for the ability of the pumpkin to help in the fight against obesity. Many people think pumpkin is sweet, but in fact it does not have a high glycemic index and if it enters the body just does not allow glucose to grow. Pumpkin is even good for diabetics – this vegetable stimulates the body’s own production of insulin.
In addition to diabetes and obesity pumpkin shown with cholecystitis, pancreatitis, gastritis, and also for rapid recovery after an illness or a major operation. But in its raw form diabetes, its flesh already not recommended as low acidity of the stomach, ulcer, gastritis and disease of the duodenum.
