Scientists from the Barcelona Institute of Global Health have concluded that the effects of car noise are driving people to gain weight. According to the magazine Environment International, the researchers used different methods of analysis, but each time the dependence of completeness and extra pounds on car noise was obvious.
These scientists suggest that people who live near major routes are prone to obesity. They are almost constantly exposed to car noise, which causes the activation of the synthesis of stress hormones, which ultimately causes people to gain weight.
Experts conducted an experiment with the participation of almost 4 thousand people. For 10 years, scientists have observed changes in the parameters of weight, body mass index and waist volume in volunteers. They found that even a slight excess of background noise in the region of residence causes people to gain weight and change their figures. Automotive noise often exceeds this assumption.
