From sadism to psychopathy and even malice – all negative traits of human nature have a common “dark core”. And its owners are a danger to others, even if they are decent people. While some traits of selfishness may not seem extreme, because they did not compare with psychopathy, a new study found a link between all the so-called “features dark personality” and the General trends of the psycheunder which a person puts his own interests well above the interests of all other people. In many cases, people who have this “dark core”, you get pleasure, bringing pain to others.
In the new study, researchers from the University of Copenhagen was defined by all the characteristics of “dark personalities”. Themselves experts called it the D-factor (dark– dark), which defines the “dark” side of man. This factors include psychopathy, narcissism, Machiavellianism, and traits such as aggressiveness, selfishness and sadism. The owners of the “dark core” ready to take any actions in relation to other people in order to achieve their own goals or interests. Quite often they fully justify all the dark manifestations in their own eyes.
Note that psychologists already exists the concept of “dark triad”, which reflects three negative traits: narcissism, psychopathy and Machiavellianism. When all these three properties are combined in one person, it turns into a real monster.
