The unnamed woman, 60, feared that the mysterious fleshy object might be a tumour.
She told Dr Song Hongjuan, a supervisor at the Maternal and Child Health Centre in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, that something had poked out of her vagina “a little” in the past but not as dramatically as it had on this most recent occasion.
She said that she felt it happen during a vigorous dance workout in a public square.
Uterine prolapse can usually be addressed by surgically repairing the weakened tissues but in some extreme cases a hysterectomy becomes necessary.
