57-year-old man was forced to fight for their own lives because of the old habit of nail biting. It led to the development of very severe infection of the blood.
Scot Ricky Kennedy considers himself incredibly lucky person, despite the fact that recently, almost died from sepsis. But luck, according to Ricky, is that he managed to win this difficult disease. Blood poisoning in his body arose from the habit of nail biting, which Ricky has been observed since the early years. Magicforum recalls that sepsis is a powerful autoimmune reaction that occurs in response to penetration through the blood into the body, of any pathogen. The reaction is excessive, and the body begins to attack itself, leading to multi-organ failure and death. Sepsis before antibiotics almost always ended in death, but today, despite all the available drugs only one in the UK, the disease kills about 44,000 people a year.
Kennedy recalls how after too deep a bite of a fingernail on the big finger of the right hand, it soon appeared there is a small blister. The man was prudent enough and went to GP who gave him antibiotics to treat possible infection. However, it started to spread to arms and chest, and a few days later Ricky was taken in serious condition to the hospital, where he had to fight for his own life. The doctors used the most powerful antibacterial remedies as well as medications to increase blood pressure which decreases in sepsis to a dangerous low, which leads to oxygen starvation of organs.
“Until the very moment I was biting nails for decades, but never thought it ever could kill me, says Ricky. – I was in so much pain that I couldn’t move. It seemed that I had a heart attack. And I was seriously ready to die, and if not for my wife, who called an ambulance I would die. Everyone else who bites his nails, I would advise to learn from my example”. (READ MORE)
