With millions of wedding photos on hand, it’s the perfect place to get started with mood boarding and planning. But what are brides pinning?

Every year, Pinterest releases a Wedding Report, detailing the trending terms from the last few months. For 2019, it was all about destination weddings and finding the perfect, different dress — or suit. Below, we’ve rounded up the Pinterest wedding trends to know from the report, so you too can gather inspiration and get a peek into what other couples are looking at for their big day.

Curvy wedding dresses (+2113%)

As brides are looking for inclusive designers to be a part of their big day, they’re turning to Pinterest to help find the perfect dress.

Ladylike suits (+1666%)

With same-sex marriage finally passing to law in Australia, it makes sense that women are searching for the perfect wedding day suit, with searches for ‘lesbian suits’ up a whopping 1666 per cent.

Backyard weddings (+441%)

As costs just keep going up, couples are turning to at-home solutions to keeping to their budget.

Small beach weddings (+511%)

Just like rural, farm weddings have found their place, it looks like beach weddings might be next, with searches for the natural venue up 511 per cent.

Mountain weddings (+32%)

On the flip side, couples are going north for their big day: saying ‘I do’ in the mountains is up 32 per cent.

Elopement (+128%)

Couples don’t want always want to wait around for friends and family, opting instead for elopements, which seem to be gaining some popularity. Elopement photographer is on the rise, with searches for the term up 128 per cent.
