There is information that a component of toothpastes (with titanium dioxide) can cause serious injury. Whether so it actually?
Titanium dioxide provides products is white color, and its presence can be found not only in toothpaste. For example, the substance contain chewing gum, crab sticks and other products.
This chemical has long been considered absolutely safe. It was known that titanium dioxide does not react with the tissues of the body and eliminated from it, is not decaying in its original form. But, it seems, new scientific research has shaken the confidence of physicians in the safety of the substance.
The issue of the dangers of titanium dioxide remains open, said in an interview with TV channel “Star” physician and nutritional Nadezhda Chernyshova. The doctors noted that “ongoing studies have linked the effect of titanium dioxide on inflammation and tumor formation”.
Another Russian expert, the therapist Victor Lichine reported that titanium dioxide does not accumulate in the body like other potentially hazardous chemicals, and to draw conclusions about the dangers of this substance before. At the same time, the doctor said that in recent studies, scientists concluded that titanium dioxide is able to activate the effects of other chemicals. Thus, scientists have yet to definitively decide how dangerous this ingredient of toothpastes is grounds for suspicion has already appeared.
