If you regularly forget where you put your keys, try to start doing yoga. Just 10 minutes of light physical exercise per day can significantly improve memory.
The study showed that 10 minutes of light physical activity daily can help the brain to better organize memories. Over time the connection between different areas of the brain weaken, due to what man is difficult to restore in the memory of a similar event. For example, when we lose the keys, the brain is very difficult to remember where they were this morning or last week. Now, however, researchers from the University of California, Irvine, together with Japanese colleagues, found that even light loads like martial arts or yoga have a transformational impact on the region of the brain responsible for storing and organizing memories.
Note that science has long known about the ability of physical activity to positively influence the brain, but this study demonstrated their amazing and fairly quick benefits. In the experiment involved 36 healthy people older than 20 years. All of them were discharged for 10 minutes loads per day, after which they passed through the MRI-scan. In the second part of the experiment, its conditions were repeated, but without the stress. Scientists have discovered totally obvious benefits in strengthening ties of brain areas that control the processing of detailed memories.
These processes are extremely beneficial effect on people’s ability to remember certain things that happened with them in past days. It was about the increased activity of the hippocampus, which is critical for creating new memories. It first weakens the hippocampus with aging, it is also difficult to deform in diseases related to memory like dementia. (READ MORE)
