Scientific experts from the Research Institute SBP in La JOLLA (USA) made an amazing discovery, finding that the sugar mannose can effectively protect from excess weight, if you start to take it in childhood. It was discovered during experiments on mice. In the same way the sugar affects the human body, experts are convinced.
This work is another indication that the likelihood of obesity depends not so much on eating behavior, how much of the device microflora. The beneficial effects of the sugar mannose researchers associated primarily with its impact on the intestinal microbiome. Experimenting with mice, they found that the type of sugar makes the microflora more resistant to the action of fatty foods when consumed at the beginning of life.
In particular, rodents that have consumed large doses of mannose during the first weeks and months of life in the future less likely to suffer from obesity when eating high-calorie food. When scientists tried to repeat the test with the use of mannose adults, it was found that similar actions it already has not. This is the proof that the sugar effect on the microflora, the peak of the formation which account for childhood and youth.
Mannose is a sugar similar to glucose in chemical composition, but having different spatial structure. The study authors noted that the full nature of the work of this sugar remains for them is still a mystery. But the ability of mannose to “reprogram” the intestinal microflora and due to this do not give to gain weight, they have convinced.
