Can a plant from the Amazon jungle to treat liver cancer? This plant extract causes the suicide of tumor cells without damaging healthy tissue.
A plant from the Amazon jungle have demonstrated remarkable potential in the treatment of liver cancer, as researchers found from the University of the Basque Country. The plant Vismia baccifera leaf extract kills liver tumors, causing the suicide of cells, as shown by experiments in the laboratory. The data of suicide are strictly locally, they are exposed to cancer cells and the healthy tissue completely unaffected. Therefore, patients with liver cancer will be able to avoid quite painful side effects of chemotherapy.
“At the moment there is great interest in identification of plant components that can be used as chemotherapeutic agents – say the authors of the study. The objective of these components will prevent further growth of tumors or treatment of metastases, for example. The native population of the jungle has long used anti-inflammatory properties Vismia baccifera to fight infections of the urinary tract or diseases of the skin. And we decided to test this plant for its effectiveness in the treatment of liver cancer”.
Magicforum recalls that inflammatory processes cause the spread of cancer cells. In this case, the researchers tested the effects of plant extract on the healthy cells of the liver and no pathological consequences have been identified. Consequently, this extract can be actively applied in the treatment of one of the most dangerous and difficult treatment of tumors. (READ MORE)
