Yup, you might think that calling your kid after a virus that’s literally killed thousands was a truly bad idea, but clearly, some people didn’t get the memo.
Via Twitter, user Niña Cayosa explained how she’d caught wind of a Pilipino woman who’d given birth on March 15 (the date of Manila’s lockdown) to a little girl named Covid Bryant. (That middle name, btw, is a shout out to late basketball champ Kobe Bryant who passed away in a helicopter crash earlier this year.)
It didn’t take long for the tweet to go viral, racking up more than 53k likes and almost 6,000 comments in a matter of days.
Allegedly, there’s been a few more pandemic-themed monikers surfacing across the globe, such as Corona, Covid Rose, Coviduvidapdap.
