The nursing shortage in Germany could aggravate: a Lot of people who care for their relatives at home, have arrived at the limit of their capacity, and are short, to stop the service.
Around 2.5 million people in Germany to maintain their families. Only a third of all Affected work, each of the Fourth, however, has reduced its work due to the care or have to give up. This is one of the current care report to the health insurance company Barmer. Many of them, however, are overwhelmed: 6.6%, i.e. 164,000, only want to maintain with more aid, less than one percent of want to do this any longer.
In 85 percent of the Affected the maintenance is day-to-day life. Half of them take care of even more than twelve hours a day to the Person in need of care. "Almost 40 percent of them to sleep, 30 per cent feel in your role as a Carer caught, and every Fifth of the care is actually to strenuous. Not of approximately 60 percent of the care for wish families support in the Pflege", Professor Heinz Rothgang from the University of Bremen, author of the care report says.
However, more than half of the primary care people will not be represented for a longer period of time. Almost 440,000 caregivers do not take advantage of offers such as the short-term care, and just under 380,000 members of the day care as well as care and domestic help. This they justify in addition to a lack of deal mainly with Doubts as to the quality and the cost.
The results of Christoph Straub, Chairman of Barmer holds, for worrying: "Without family caregivers, it is nicht", so Straub. It is high time that you supported early on better, comprehensive advice and unnecessary bureaucracy to be relieved.
