To cook Butternut squash is easier than it seems. If the store you are not satisfied with the price or the part, use our tips to make it at home from your favorite nuts.
You need
For the pasta you will need an oven, broiler and blender, and nuts to your taste. While it may seem that you need butter to prepare peanut butter, in fact it is not. Nuts contain natural oils.
Of course, you can add other ingredients. We are for creative! You can use Chia seeds, chocolate or coconut. Spices are welcome too (e.g. cinnamon or nutmeg), and if you want to make partipicants, you can add some curry or paprika.
You can also combine nuts. If you don’t have almonds, try adding one or two other nuts such as hazelnuts or pecans. The more the better!
Note that some nuts have to be cleaned from the husk (e.g., walnuts and hazelnuts), as it can be bitter and affect not only the taste but also the texture of the pasta. Fortunately, there are a few simple ways to get rid of the husks:
- After you have roasted the nuts, place them in the center of a clean dry kitchen towel, then roll it and carefully grind the nuts in it. This will clear them from the husk, but not completely. If you want the pasta was bitter, this method will suit you perfectly.
- The second option is to scald the nuts. To do this, bring water in saucepan to a boil, add the nuts and let them cook for one minute, and then drain the water.
Manual for the preparation of peanut butter
We will tell you how to cook pasta for example cashews, walnuts and almonds. To get 1/3 Cup of oil, you’ll need about a Cup each kind of nuts. If you want to get a full glass, use three cups of each type.
Set the oven at 180 0C. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper and put in it all the nuts. Put them in the oven for 6-8 minutes to lightly toast. Remove from oven and let cool.
Once the nuts are cool, place them in a powerful blender or food processor and blend for 10-12 minutes. First, the nuts will have the texture of flour, and you may have to scrape them with the side parts of a blender, but eventually they will turn into a buttery paste. If you want to make peanut butter with pieces, add the pieces of chopped nuts to the mix later.
Store the paste in an airtight container in the refrigerator, so they can be stored for several months. You can use the paste to prepare different dishes.
Cold oatmeal with blackberries
Ingredients
- 2/3 Cup fresh blackberries
- 1/2 Cup low-fat Greek yogurt
- 1/3 Cup of oatmeal
- 1 1/2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extracts
Method of preparation
- In a bowl mix ⅓ Cup blackberries, yogurt, oatmeal, tbsp peanut butter, honey and vanilla.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours or refrigerate overnight.
- Serve cold and garnish with remaining blackberries and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter.
Energy bars
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup of oatmeal
- 1/2 Cup peanut butter
- 1/3 Cup raisins
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam (or any other on your taste)
Method of preparation
- In a food processor mix the ingredients until fully combined.
- Put the resulting mass on a clean surface, roll it and cut out the 3 bars.
- Refrigerate before serving so that the texture became more dense. Wrap remaining dough in plastic or parchment paper and store in the refrigerator.
Banana smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/2 large ripe banana, peeled, frozen and cut into pieces
- 1/2 Cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 Cup low-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
Method of preparation
- In a blender grind all the ingredients into a homogeneous puree.
