Broccoli against cancer: useful methods of preparation

American scientists have managed to reveal the mechanism by which the substances contained in broccoli helps the human body to fight with malignant tumors.Isothiocyanate contained in the vegetable, causing the death of cancer cells. Healthy cells in the body this substance is not affected.

A recent study conducted by the Institute of Francis Crick in London, also showed that some chemicals contained in broccoli and Kayla, can reduce the inflammation of the intestines and colon, omegawatchocc colon cancer.

The study, which was published in the medical journal Immunity, studied the benefits of a diet rich in indole-3-carbinol (I3C). I3C is manufactured in the body when the vegetables are digested. Scientists have discovered that the presence in the body, I3C is able to prevent inflammation and colon cancer by activating a protein called receptor aromatic hydrocarbon (AHR).

We studied genetically modified mice that cannot produce or activate AHR, and found that they can easily developing inflammation of the intestine that progresses to colon cancer. However, when we began to feed them with food enriched in I3C, inflammation and cancer never came back. Interestingly, when mice that have already developed cancer, switched to a diet enriched in I3C, the size of tumors has decreased, and some even become benign.

The results of the study led the team to the conclusion that eating certain foods can play an important role in preventing certain types of cancer.
