Jennifer Lopez is taking her mom duties seriously this summer, including one particularly challenging task: spending quality alone time with her kids. That’s hard to do even with your own kids, but The Mother star was spotted taking both her child Emme, 15, and her stepdaughter, Violet, 17, whom her husband Ben Affleck shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, out to lunch separately this week. We are thoroughly impressed!

Jennifer Lopez & Violet Went to The Ivy

In pictures from the day (which Hollywood Life has HERE), Lopez is dressed in white jeans, with a tan button-down blouse tucked in. She paired it with heels and a Birkin bag. Violet wears a midi blue-and-white floral skirt with a beige sweater over it, a crossbody purse, and comfortable sneakers. She also wore a mask in the photos.
Neither of Violet’s siblings, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11, or Lopez’s kids, twins Emme and Max, were photographed arriving at the restaurant. Affleck was missing as well, so the two were likely dining alone. What an awesome gesture for Lopez to take her stepdaughter out to lunch and build a bond with her. You love to see it!

In pictures from the day (which Page Six has HERE), Lopez wore a matching cream-colored fuzzy jacket and pants, paired with sparkly silver boots, long necklaces, a matching fedora, and a tiny white purse. Emme walked next to her, dressed in a black “Hannibal” t-shirt, jeans, and black sneakers, accessorized with a bracelet, a silver necklace, and headphones.

Recently, Affleck, Lopez, and Violet were spotted in the Hamptons at a Fourth of July party, where J. Lo and her stepdaughter wore matching white dresses.
And in May, the couple were photographed at Seraphina’s school play, along with Max, Violet, and Garner. The Last Thing He Told Me star has also been making an effort with Lopez’s kids, and she recently took Emme, Seraphina, and their friends to Disneyland.
They truly seem to be putting the kids first, and it’s such an inspiration!
