As Priyanka Chopra Jonas travels around the world to promote her new tv series Citadel — in a glamorous red dress! — she is reflecting on the way she has been traveling since she was a baby. And now, she and husband Nick Jonas are carrying on that tradition with 14-month-old daughter Malti Marie.
“She’s a little traveler,” Chopra Jonas told Entertainment Tonight yesterday. “But my parents raised me like that, and so was my husband.”

She explained that she “started traveling when I was very young, when I was, like, four or five months.”
“So it’s the same thing for her, right now,” Chopra Jonas continued. “She’s not in school, so we can schlep her wherever we want. I love spending time with her so it’s so cool.”
Can you imagine being Malti for a second? I mean, she was just seeing her dad’s concert in London and now she gets to celebrate her mom’s new project, and it’s all so glamorous and cool. Having two A-list parents in the prime of their careers and you get to be there with them every step of the way? Yeah, we are super jealous.

Malti Recently Went to India
Earlier this month, Chopra Jonas shared photos from Malti’s first trip to India.
“MM’s first trip to India had to be completed with Shree Siddhivinayak’s blessings ??❤️ ,” she wrote on Instagram.
The little girl looked adorable in her mom’s arms, dressed in colorful beaded sari with red pants and a light blue scarf with floral embroidery.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas Says Parenting Takes a ‘Village’
In Us Weekly‘s Most Powerful Women’s Issue in March 2023, Chopra Jonas shared how she “had to reduce [her] pace” now that she’s a mom.
“Like, I cannot do as many things as I used to,” she told the outlet. “Because I like to get home for bath time. I like to be there when she wakes up. Those are things that are important to me. … So I can’t do as much, but still, you figure it out, you know?”
She added that her and Jonas have “a village” to help them when they can’t take Malti on trips with them. “My mom’s around, Nick’s parents come in when we have to travel,” she said. “Both of us have to travel, but you kind of make it work. It takes a village and she’s the greatest gift of our lives.”

Priyanka Chopra Jonas Encourages Us to Empower Girls
It’s important for Chopra Jonas to empower her daughter and other girls in the world.
“I think I was very lucky to have an upbringing where my parents gave me a sense of self, where I was given the ability to make my own choices,” Chopra Jonas said in a recent interview with Anupama Chopra on Film Companion in India. “I think a lot of girls, especially in our country, and, you know, many others, their ability to make choices is taken away from them. So I think it’s very important for us to raise bold girls. For us to raise girls that push the envelope. For us to invest in the girls in our communities, in our countries. Because once a girl stands on her own feet, she not just takes her family she takes her community forward. Which, in part, takes the country forward.”
She went on, “Women are 50 percent of the world’s population and we have always had to take a step behind. And I think it imperative, our prerogative, and our responsibility — men, women alike, parents, grandparents, and as communities and societies — to empower our children. Our girls. And I’m a result of a family that empowered me. From when I was 4 years old, my father encouraged opinions…and that always made me feel like I’m important.”
