Even one day of office work already affects the body negatively. The need to sit for hours in one place using only your brain creates a chemical imbalance, but there are ways to rectify the situation.
Millions of people have Desk jobswhere they spend 8 hours a day in a sitting position when they move only their hands. While technically a few hours on the beach and a few hours in the office on physical activity level seem about the same. But in the first case, we feel rested and in a second exhausted. A psychologist at the George Washington University’s Dr. Daniel Lieberman believes that mental fatigue is no less severe than physical. However, there are ways to protect yourself from it.
“Mental or intellectual fatigue – this is not fiction, says Dr. Lieberman. – Try to quickly pronounce all the letters of the alphabet, and then quickly count to 10, then reverse direction and do this several times. Pretty soon you feel tired. Numerous studies show that the human brain is incapable of multitasking, and if we are trying to accomplish several things at once, you get tired very quickly. However, during office work we often have to solve several tasks like responding to email, filling out reports and business calls.
It is therefore necessary to make regular pauses, looking up from the computer and creating the same balance in the brain, which will bring considerable relief. Get yourself a plant that will purify the air, periodically go over to the window and look at nature. Use the opportunities for socialization or communication with their colleagues, as at this point the brain releases oxytocin, which influences very positively. But communication via social networks has the opposite effect.” (READ MORE)
