Mental abilities associated with the character of a person

Scientists of the Saratov Scientific-educational center “Systems of artificial intelligence and neyrotekhnologii” made the discovery that the speed of solving cognitive tasks people do with their characters. Evidence of the existence of such communications received, comparing the results of surveys to identify the characteristics of EEG data of the brain.

“Personality traits and the rate of solution of elementary cognitive tasks are linked, and this can be traced to the electrical activity of the brain,” stated researchers in summing up the project.
The study participants underwent psychological questionnaires, and performed cognitive tests. Their brain activity recorded EEG. The experiment showed that success in solving cognitive tasks correlates with the ability to cope with problems. That is, if the person ceases to solve the problem, finding it too difficult and without additional attempts to find the answer, then most likely it in life give up easily when setbacks and inclined to leave things unfinished.

According to the results of the experiment, people were divided by specialists into three groups. The first group included those who solve mental tasks slowly, but this slowness they have stable, without drops in brain activity. According to scientists, these people are prone to a single job, they demonstrate a critical perception of reality by the mind and are afraid of any uncertainty.

In the second group were those who could solve problems faster than others – mental resources their body at this point spent more in comparison with the others. These “geniuses”, as shown by the questionnaire differ in emotional maturity and an outstanding ability to self-control. The third group consisted of people who have solved the problems of the slowest. They turned out to be the lowest level of self-control.

“Between these three groups revealed differences in speed of response, and traits. We observed a significant difference in the activity of nerve cells, the spatial distribution and amplitude of “brain waves”, and it means that the solution of the same task the brain in different people react differently,” said the authors.
Experts believe that in the future these data will contribute to the development of artificial intelligence systems.
