5 reasons not to abandon the eggs

For a long time, eggs had a bad reputation: they were believed to raise cholesterol levels, harm the liver and cause heart disease. But then scientists fully rehabilitated. Now eggs are called almost “superfood”, and here’s why:

1. This is the most inexpensive source of protein

The ordinary chicken egg is not more than 10 roubles, but it contains approximately 6 grams of high quality protein. Eggs contain all the essential amino acids as in meat, but they can eat vegetarians.

Just do not listen to the advice of unscrupulous trainers that tell you to throw away the yolk. It contains about half protein and lots of nutrients.

2. Eggs for Breakfast will leave you satisfied until lunch

Studies have shown that eggs keep hunger much longer than dishes made from flour. Men who ate eggs in the morning (instead of pancakes or muffins), I felt more full and in result, ate less at lunch.

3. They protect your eyes from harmful radiation

Egg yolk is rich in lutein. This pigment protects the eyes from macular degeneration – and this is one of the most common causes of vision loss.

In addition, lutein protects eyesight from the harmful “blue light” that’s emitted from our gadgets. Yet this phenomenon is not fully understood, but it causes serious fears of scientists. It is assumed that the light from phones and computers increases the risk of cancer, obesity and diseases of the eye.

4. Eggs do not clog up with cholesterol vessels

Since the 90-ies it was believed that if you eat more than two eggs a week, in the blood will increase the level of “bad” cholesterol. However, this myth was exposed: it was found that the formation of cholesterol depends on the work of the liver, and not from the number of eggs in the diet. More detail we talked about this in the article “is it True that eggs are harmful to health?”.

5. Eggs help to keep muscle mass

After age 30 we start losing muscle: for as much as 5% per decade. Therefore, with age, people have weakness, loss of stamina, sagging body.

Sports (especially weight training) can help slow this process and maintain muscle mass. But only under one condition: if you eat enough quality protein. For example, (see paragraph 1!), such as in eggs.
