Unexpected the reason is a too fast aging

AmericanJournalofPsychiatry journal published the new study that people suffering from depression age faster than those who do not.

“Depression accelerates aging. Patients with the severe form of the disease can be 10-15 years older than chronological age,” stated the scientists in the publication edition.
According to scientists, depression, especially in the presence of childhood trauma in a person, leaves a trace at a molecular level and includes cellular mechanisms related to aging processes and reduce life expectancy. A similar conclusion was made by researchers after DNA analysis of 811 patients with major depressive disorder and 319 people without depression.

This analysis showed that in the presence of depression biological clock “running faster”. If in the past the person had experience of abuse, physical, psychological or sexual violence – the biological clock even more speed down the course, causing aging early.

Scientists have noted that particularly apparent that accelerated aging is getting up in age of 50-60 years.
