Kayla Itsines Just Posted A Photo Of Her Stomach 1 Week After Giving Birth

  • Kayla Itsines posted a side-by-side photo of her postpartum body taken a week after giving birth.
  • Kayla delivered her baby girl Arna at the end of April.
  • In her caption, she asks women to celebrate their bodies for all they’re capable of.

Kayla Itsines is celebrating her postpartum body—and regardless of what your body’s been through, she wants you to do the same.

The personal trainer posted a rare side-by-side photo of her own body yesterday, which features the last snap she took before giving birth to her daughter, Arna, next to one taken a week after delivery.

“If I am honest, it is with great trepidation that I share with you this very personal image,” Kayla wrote in her caption. “For me, regardless of how my body healed post-birth, I felt it was really important for me personally to embrace, appreciate and celebrate my body the same way that I tell all the women in this community to celebrate their body.”

With her giant following (a casual 11.4 million, BTW), Kayla felt it was important that she acknowledge the way every woman’s relationship with her body is unique. Regardless of their personal journeys and whether or not they’ve ever given birth, Kayla called on her followers to to appreciate their bodies for everything they do.

MY FIRST POST BIRTH RECOVERY PHOTO!!! (last photo before giving birth vs one week after birth). If I am honest, it is with great trepidation that I share with you this very personal image. Every woman's journey through life but especially pregnancy, birth and healing post-birth is unique. While each journey has a common thread that connects us as women, our personal experience, our relationship with ourselves and our body will always be our own. For me, regardless of how my body healed post-birth, I felt it was really important for me personally to embrace, appreciate and celebrate my body the same way that I tell all the women in this community to celebrate their body. For me right now, I celebrate my body for all it has been through and the absolute joy it has brought into my life with Arna. As a personal trainer, all I can hope for you ladies is that you feel encouraged to do the same regardless of whether you have just given birth or not, celebrate your body and the gift that it is. No matter what journey you have been on with your body, the ways in which it heals, supports, strengthens and adapts to take us through life is truly incredible. www.kaylaitsines.com/app

“The ways in which [the body] heals, supports, strengthens and adapts to take us through life is truly incredible,” Kayla wrote in her last line, and her fans couldn’t agree more flooding her comments with praise.

“You look amazing, Kayla!! 😍 This is such an important message too. Thank you for sharing with us 💛”

“I’m so pleased you shared this. 🙌🏼 It’s refreshing to see someone so prominent in the fitness industry not show off their six pack 2 days after giving birth. 😘”

Delivering a baby in the first place is already an incredible feat—now, loving it while it recovers and heals, rather than expecting it to bounce back is another challenge that Kayla is more than ready to tackle.
