The Miami news anchor who opened up about her painful facial rash is sharing a positive update. Frances Wang shared, “I’m GIDDY with seeing the progress!” in a new Instagram post.
Frances included a collage of six makeup-free selfies, which show her changing skin. “From May – October it just got worse and worse and worse… I found myself falling into a depressed state and not my usual happy, bubbly self.”
Recently, she noticed her skin improving. “People have been asking what I’m doing that’s working and honestly, I don’t know because I tried so many things from cutting out meat & dairy to probiotics to celery juicing in the morning to no makeup to using all of these topicals. I stopped taking antibiotics in September because they were causing other medical problems.”
She continues in her caption: “Is it just time maybe? Mine was steroid cream induced so maybe my withdrawal point is over? This condition is so confusing and I don’t want to say x, y, z cured me because I don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction.”

Frances does detail her current skin regimen for followers. “I’m currently using a topical sulfameticide & retinol at night. I use @vanicreamskincare for my cleanser & moisturizer, @itcosmetics for foundation. I still have a lot of red but for the most part it’s all flat & coverable with makeup. It’s no longer inflamed & healing! I’ve been told it might scar & if so, I’ll have to get some microneedling or laser work done. We shall see.”
Back in September, Frances decided to share her experience and her bare face as a PSA to help others. She has been dealing with what multiple dermatologists say is perioral dermatitis. The red, bumpy rash started after Frances used topical steroids for another skin condition, eczema. After months of pain and confusion, she’s grateful for support and is optimistic about the new year to come. “THANK YOU for following my journey to clear skin again – the 2020 glow up is just around the corner and I can feel it 😊!”
