10% of men and 7% of women obsessed with sex

Sex addiction is much more common than had been thought. From this disorder suffer every 10th man and every 12th woman.

10% of men and 7% representatives of the fairer sex can’t control their sexual thoughts and desires, as the study showed. In other words, they are a victim of sexual obsession. Proven that a healthy sex life has many benefits for mental and physical health, but when sex starts to occupy all the thoughts, it affects everyday life and work that disturbs people. Researchers from the University of Minnesota found that the number of Americans who can’t control the thoughts and desires associated with sex, can steadily grow.

And sexual obsession affects different groups, particularly racial and sexual minorities, in different proportions. Therefore, this phenomenon can be various causes and scenarios. Note that the attitude toward sex in American and Russian society has undergone significant changes. If in 1970-e years, the majority of men and women in both countries is extremely disapproved of sex before marriage, but today most of those who are called Millennials (the generation of people born between 1980 and 2000, and met the Millennium (the new Millennium) in his youth), believes that sex before marriage is not only valid, but desirable.
