Name a more iconic duo than Karrueche and ColourPop. Each time model and actress Karrueche Tran pairs up with the affordable, of-the-moment cosmetics company, the products cause a fan frenzy — and sell out pretty much immediately. But the good news is that they keep us coming back for more with creative launches and products that are so inexpensive it'd almost be silly not to try them.
The latest collection is Brown Sugar, a range of eye shadows, lip products, and creme eyeliner gel. According to a ColourPop rep, Brown Sugar is "inspired by the color brown, which evokes a sense of strength, warmth, and elegance. Designed with all skin tones in mind by incorporating universally flattering shades, this new collection will be sure to give your makeup routine a needed sugar rush."
The range includes the Brown Sugar Eyeshadow Palette, a nine-pan palette with a mix of metallics and mattes all in various shades of brown. There are shades like Chai (matte soft yellow beige), Ginger (metallic light gold), and Henna (matte deep charcoal brown.) This palette is pretty much the only thing getting me through the fact that fall has arrived and, fine, it's time to switch to richer, darker hues. It's also only $12.
The collection also includes three shades of crème gel colour, a $6 eyeliner pot that's versatile enough to be used as standalone eyeliner or layered across the lid. Keeping with the brown sugar theme, the shades include Stew, Rum, and Nut (lol) — two shimmers and one flat, juicy brown matte. Last up are the lip products — two shades of lip gloss ($6 each) and four creme lipsticks in yellow brown, chocolate brown, plum brown, and a peachy nude ($7 each).
